Count your euros in Ireland

This free money counter adds up euro cash for shops, pubs, clubs and households in Ireland. Enter how many notes and coins you have, and the total appears as you go. There's no sign-up, and it works on a phone or computer.

Rounding to 5 cent in Ireland

Ireland introduced cash rounding nationally in October 2015. Where a shop takes part, the final cash total is rounded to the nearest 5 cent, so €10.21 or €10.22 becomes €10.20. It's voluntary, card payments aren't affected, and you can ask to pay the exact amount. The 1c and 2c coins are still legal tender, so they have their own rows here.

Cashing up at the end of the night

Count the whole till and take away your float. A till holding €400 in notes and €25.55 in coins comes to €425.55. With a €150 float, cash sales should be €275.55.

Notes and coins included

You can enter €200, €100, €50, €20, €10 and €5 notes, along with €2, €1, 50c, 20c, 10c, 5c, 2c and 1c coins. Type a number or tap + and −. Full view lets you tap a picture as you count, and Hide empty shows only what you've used.

Your numbers stay on your device and clear when you reload. It totals money you've already counted, so it can't check for counterfeit notes.
